The band got together after Jim Byers saw Adelle Kirk doing a solo spot at a pub in Harrow. He got chatting to her and shortly after, she joind him and his son James doing acoustic gigs. Before long Jim and a couple of his buddies, Angie Antinori and Jack Irving, both from Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages, put a band together with Andy Heart, ex-Brian Connolly's Sweet bassist. Adelle then left to record an album with her other band Basilica, but on returning to London she called Jim and said let's put a band together again. So, Jim called long standing friends, Peter Parks from Warhorse, and Nick Simper of Deep Purple fame. Pete announced he was in the band before Jim finished asking him, and Nick joined after Jim and Pete told him how good Adelle is. The next recruit was South African session drummer, Ivan Hoe, and the band was formed and out gigging two weeks later. Unfortunately Nick had a bad accident and told the band he was going to be laid up for about six to nine months. So another old friend of the band was called in to dep for Nick, ex-Glitter Band bassist Bill Phillips. On occassion the band have used Richard Hudson from the Strawbs and Zoltan Gandalf, who are both great drummers and fitted right in without any rehearsal. The band plays Rock, Rock 'n' Roll, Soul, and sometimes even Jazz. They also have original numbers of their own and always go down extremely well.
If you want a good night out with a good time band, go see them. Adelle Kirk does an amazing job fronting this band who collectively have over 120 years experience between them. Pat Dysen
