About Me

Erratica is an extreme, surrealist and exploratory contemporary dance and physical theatre company that focuses on the subconsious, the twisted and distorted and focuses on a range of influences to create, deep thought provoking, and surreal work with a strong focus on music from classical to metal. Filled with underlying concepts designed to appeal to subconcious mind, as well as infusing these ideas into and creating a relationship with other artforms, primarily music through collaboration, creating a different rlationship between dance and other existing artforms that what currently exists.After a six year reign over youth company 'Pulse Dance Theatre' artistic director Ceridwen Faith, had, had enough of doing the same old thing and decided to send her creative energies elsewhere, to create something new. She spent most of 2006 studying, exploring and researching as many aspects of dance as possible, with a view to shatter both stylistic boundaries of dance and artistic boundaries in general. 2006 culminated in the creation of her 2006 project 'Curiouser' and from there Erratica was born.In 2007 Erratica worked with range of dancers and physical performance artists and embarked upon exploratory project 'The Metalhead Experiment' which saw erratica creating a number of short works, and began creating 'Freakshow' a versatile performance show that was performed in essence at Club Blink's 2007 Halloween party.In 2008 Erratica have been working on 'Pendulum' and the Dragon's Lair as well as a number of collaborative endeavours. As of June the current members of Erratica are taking a break, as the company prepares to take these projects as well as Erratica's exploratory approach to dance and choreography to Europe to begin a Euoprean reconstruction of Erratica in September.
