CALLING ALL CARS

EP OUT NOW!!!

About Me

It's only a couple of years since the boys Calling All Cars made the journey from Tilba on the New South Wales south coast to Melbourne. After swiftly making an impact on Australia's toughest rock scene, the visceral trio are beginning to work their many charms on the rest of the country.
Their blazing self-titled debut EP has been a huge hit on the national youth broadcaster Triple J. In one week in February, the blistering single Hey You was the fourth most played song of the week. And it continues to build momentum.
But its not only radio programmers who fell in love with the track. The punters have spoken and the track has been the most requested track on Super Request many times.
Regional Australia is on board, too. The band are scoring weekly adds on stations from the Far North to the Far West and everywhere else in between.
It's been a dizzying time for frontman Haydn Ing, his drumming brother James and their bassist and best mate Matt Lonergan. "It's been a great time for the band," Haydn, he of the scorching vocals, says. "We've been playing with some amazing bands and have written plenty of new material. And to get so much airplay on Triple J is huge."
As word of the band has spread in the past six months, Haydn has noticed a stark difference in the crowds following the band. "Every time we play Hey You it goes off," he says. "It's a great feeling."
The boys originally lobbed in Melbourne back in 2005. Many shows later, the band has leapt forward from the raw power trio they once were. "I've loved music as long as I can remember," Haydn says. "James and I have been playing together our whole lives." Indeed, 23 year old Haydn and 20 year old James have been playing with Lonergan under various guises for the last seven years.
After tours supporting the likes of Gyroscope, Trial Kennedy, The Hot Lies and Kisschasy as well as headlining their own huge shows nationally, the band are heading back on the road again. They will be playing at Come Together '08 and then joining the almighty Shihad for their 'Beautiful Machine' album tour - and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Word has spread among the local music community of the band's thrilling, in-your-face live show and they find themselves hot property as a support act.
Haydn is ecstatic with the new demos for their next huge release. "The songs we are writing are constantly improving," he says. "We're trying to write as many songs now as we can, while we have the time. And we can't wait to start testing them live."
