About Me

Technotronic’s “Pump up the jam” enabled Sam Mollison to cut both his A&R and production teeth respectively with great success with Swanyard Records in London during the summer of 89. A time of transition within the music industry as House music exploded onto the commercial airwaves with astonishing results. Music was evidently catching up with itself particularly in the form of computer generated production and Sam was fortunate enough to be right in amongst the very best of its exponents as he traveled his own journey to become a House Icon.Sam’s association with Swanyard Studios / Records allowed him to learn from artists such as Tina Turner, Jean Paul Maunick (Bluey) of Incognito fame, Gwen Dickey (the voice behind Rose Royce), Soul II Soul, Swing out sister and Andy Taylor (Duran Duran). Using all the knowledge gained from being around such caliber of artists helped to cement Sam’s early success with Technotronic by eventually establishing himself as one of the most accomplished singer songwriters of his genre.“Different World” and “Will you love me in the morning” on A&M records 91/92. Lost in Love “ on Polydor 94, “Wings of Love”, “Higher ground” and “Magic” on Deconstruction 94, the last two tracks coming during a period of collaboration with world renowned DJ Sasha which saw comprehensive commercial success for both.Orlando, Florida and the summer of 95 saw Sam create First in Flight, his own independent label and production House that produced House classics such as “Cry”, “Always on my mind” and “Words”. More collaborations saw Sam help create further classics for labels such as Sony / INCredible, Hooj Choons and Cyber records with Medway’s “My release” proving unstoppable in 2001. The signing of James Reid (Blue Amazon) and his debut album “sounds of the darcadian” elevated First In Flight to another level and with the release of Sam’s album “sacrifice” both released on iTunes through Fiberlineaudio.com, the journey is now firmly ensconced in the digital realm.Look out for his upcoming album “living amongst the storms” arriving in the Summer of 08.

Happy Birthday Sean Davis

The heat of the magnifying glass

I don't normally do the political rant and rave thing. I don't know if this is ranting or raving but this past week has set my soul back a little due to images I have seen. Being a human being sometim...

Complacency.

Complacency.  It kind of makes you roll along without feeling your instincts. You ignore all the signs and all the things your stomach is telling you. It's not that the situation can help itself;...

Filling in the blanks.

The October Crooked bayou show saw Mark Hunt drop some Appleton Gold (Jamaican Rum). No, Okay, "Ableton Live", whatever, as I played along to random grooves. This didn't get a mention in most recent t...
