About Me
TOM ANDERSON ~An artist and a professional with a passion for music. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Tom is a songwriter, producer, engineer and a generally demented music technologist.
Influenced by Florida's music and clubs of the late 80's and early 90's such as the historic Beacham Theater (Aahz), Simon's, The Edge and The Club at Firestone, Tom was inspired to move into music production. As a graduate of Full Sail Center for Recording Arts, he somehow wound up as both Salutatorian and Valedictorian of the Recording Arts and Digital Media programs, respectively.
Since the development of his studio in the 90's, Tom's production efforts have showed no signs of slowing down. In addition to music production efforts, Tom was also involved in the production and scoring of a television commercial that received prime national exposure across the U.S. in 1999.
Along the way, Toms production work gained the attention of long-time friend and DJ Mark Hunt. They decided to join forces to form Motive, the musical depiction of their combined personalities. Motives production work is intended to be a reflection of the classic house music that inspired them and the possibilities the future holds, observing the essence of all of their musical influences. Their first credit was with West Coast record label Spundae for their song Inner Depth, which was featured on a Spundae vinyl compilation and also featured as the opening track on Jerry Bonham's 2001 mixed CD Spundae Presents Interpretations II. Motive wrote and produced two more tracks called Please Don't and Not Without Your Love which were released in 2002 with European label Viscous Disc, a Fluid Recordings Project. Most recently, Motive has joined forces with Fade Records to release the powerful original vocal track A.B.E., which has found its way onto the tracklistings of recent CDs from Chris Fortier and Australian DJ Phil K. Gaining global support of world class DJs from New York to Australia, Motive has an unflinching eye on the future. Tom's main ambition is to spend time in the studio where he can explore his production eccentricities and focus on what he enjoys the most MUSIC. The results are a unique blend of emotion, technology and his unusual perspective on the music he loves.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MA
RK HUNT ~Hailing from Orlando, Mark's DJ career spans well over a decade. His start on college radio in 1990 led to his pursuit of the Underground Movement. The reputation Mark built as a solid DJ led to his residency at The Lift @ Barbarella with Jimmy Van M, Kimball Collins and Chris Fortier. He played all of the legendary parties that built the Original Orlando scene, frequenting the infamous The Club at Firestone.
Once the epicenter of Dance Music, Orlando faced several setbacks. Since then, Mark has become one of the most respected DJs in America. His sets of Deep House with Progressive Polish and Tough Beats have incensed crowds from Mexico to Costa Rica, Canada to the UK, and practically every major city in the United States.
Mark has also been on the rise with an innovative production careeer and recently left behind a well respected job as a firefighter to formally study music and now holds a degree in Music Production Technology. He currently works at Full Sail University as a MIDI Instructor. His debut, Over & Out, was released on Sunkissed Records and landed on John Digweed's original Bedrock 'Compiled and Mixed' album. Digweed stated in URB Mag May 99 ~ that his tracks build like a brick layer. Most recently, he has finished a mix for Highland Skies of their track 'Real Love' and it's destined to be a hit. He has also worked along side friend Tom Anderson to create a production duo of dynamic proportions called Motive, and their debut, Inner Depth, landed the lead track on Jerry Bonham's Interpretations II album, then was subsequently signed and released on Spundae Recordings. Motive's next release was with the UK label Viscous Disc with 'Please Dont' and 'Not Without Your Love', receiving rave reviews in Muzik Magazine Sept 02 issue. They then joined Fade Records to produce a swelling vocal track called 'A.B.E. featuring Abagale Fischer'. Prompted by the opening spot on Chris Fortier's mix album, Audio Tour, ABE is Fade's biggest release to date. ABE (Real 128 Mix) landed on yet another stellar compilation on the Distinctive Breaks imprint. This time with Australian DJ Phil K with the album Y4K. With his feet just touching the ground, Mark is poised to lead the next wave of talent. From television interviews for Hot Hits, to many articles, charts, and record reviews in such press as URB, FADER, and REMIX Magazines, Mark Hunt's profile is one that demands respect from even the most jaded electronica aficionado.
