I definitely am bit by the travel bug so I make it a point to escape as much as possible, be it out of the country or to visit friends. I also enjoy swing dancing, playing my flute, hiking, the outdoors, friends, family, baseball, hockey (Red Wings), rugby (All Blacks), movies, live music, crocheting, and the list goes on...
I listen to a wide variety from classical to country. My favorite genres would be big band/swing, 80s and classic rock/rock n'roll. My fave CDs of the moment are: Brett Dennen, Joseph Arthur, Joanna Newsom, Silversun Pickups, Sufjan Stevens, Husky Rescue, Hot Chip, Of Montreal, Mates of State, & Feist. Some others are Alexi Murdoch, Sleater Kinney, Wolfmother, Nine Black Alps, Regina Spektor, Keith Urban, Imogen Heap, Matt Costa, Dressy Bessy, Inara George, Nouvelle Vague, Madeleine Peyroux, Iron and Wine, Jack Johnson, and Tegan and Sara. My list of can play over and over: Tenacious D, Belle & Sebastian, Badly Drawn Boy, Frou Frou, Postal Service, Snow Patrol to name a few.
Yes, I am a fan of the "chick flick." Comedies are a must. High Fidelity, School of Rock, Blues Brothers, Gross Pointe Blank, Pride & Prejudice (any version), About A Boy, Love Actually, Napoleon Dynamite, you see where I am going here...And I loved being in LA for access to all the obscure Indy/Foreign films. The only genre I tend to stay clear of is horror.
I really loved the show Arrested Development. I love The Amazing Race for the teams on it but mainly seeing more countries I could travel to and getting ideas for future trips. LOST is my moment of silence for at least 1 hour every week. The Office, Brit version or US version. And Scrubs is a must have laugh for the week.
I am a fan of Bill Bryson. Now that I won't be working so many hours, maybe I can find time to catch up on my reading!
Mi Madre, Padre and Marjorie.
