It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory................THE MIDWEST KINGS OF THE RING - DAVENPORT IOWA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Hi,Im Doug..Im the guy who brought the idea of the MIDWEST KINGS OF THE RING fight club to life.I brought fourth the ideas and set ups for the perfect fight arena , and lo and behold we have amassed much success, thanks to the owner of the AMSTERDAM GENTLEMEN'S CLUB for backing the ideas and making it all work out. I'm the DJ/announcer/matchmaker of The Midwest Kings of the Ring.I work at THE AMSTERDAM GENTLEMENs CLUB as the Assistant Manager,the Amsterdam owner believed in me and my idea that now was the time to bring the Kings to life , we worked together and the owner funded the entire project par no expenses,we have four sides of bleecher style seating that put you level to , and above ground level for the best fight viewing ever assembled in the Quad Cities,for sure much money was spent to turn what I called a beer can graveyard into what we have today , a state-of-the-art fighting arena with over 400 fans per week ( was 300 ) all waitng till Thursday night , the night the fights are going on in the QCA. One time we had a special " after the UFC " fight where I got to be a "special guest" referee for the UFC lightweight fighter, that was very exciting. This is a very big deal to me as I have been a fan of the UFC and mixed martial arts since the very first UFC I saw which of course was number 1. I am proud to admit PAT MILETICH is my idol,No Shame...I have followed PAT since I first met him in the small bars of Bettendorf bouncing for a bar called OJ's ..wow that was a long time ago,I saw every one of his appearences in EXTREME CHALLENGE, a fight show that today approaches it's 77th event,and all the way back to the days of STARS and STRIPES where you could go and "hang out " with PAT and ROBBIE and MATT and watch them smash every opponent as they all rose to stardom KIEL REID has been a good long time friend of mine to that really has progressed over the years , I just saw a pic of him in the magazine called "REAL FIGHTER" as they were doing a story about PAT's gym.I've seen all the UFC's and even attended several UFC's and other fights in different arenas in my life and fighters are really, some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Especially if they are pro's,they know they can kick ass, so whats there to be rude to you about??!!!,.. these guys really lay it on the line, and for that I thank every one of them that make the real fight scene come trueThe very first night we opened MATT HUGHES and TIM SYLVIA showed up to see what was going on and that made it really great its only going to get better as time goes by.Since then we've had many UFC and other pro fighters show up, like JENS(lil Evil)PULVER,..SPENCER(the King)FISHER,...hard hitter ROBBIE LAWLER,..JUSTIN EILERS,....SAM HOGAR...BIG BEN ROTHWEWLL...BRAD IMES and JOE SLICK ,talk about feeling safe ...lol.JOE SLICK a 2 time UFC veteran is now my head referee on each and every Thursday night .I thank him for doing such a great job, keeping it safe and professional.
