I was born in Hong Kong and left home when I was 7 years old. I told my parent to either send me to England or the US, but I was not going to stay. So I grew up in LA with my uncle until my parents immigrated to the US four years later.
As retaliation for me not coming home, they moved me to Houston, TX. I am still seeking counseling for this today.
As soon as I was 18, I bolted to Austin to attend the University of Texas...otherwise known as the school of all night partying. I played in a couple of bands and had a great time. I even made it to some classes, but it's hard to see the chalkboard when your eyes are dilated.
After graduating from college I thought about going into music full time, but seeing as how my android body was not ready and I had to stick with my organic one, the need to eat food semi-regularly forced me to get a job.
I eventually founded a company that was on of a handful in the US that was authorized to manufacture Macintosh compatible computers. That was fun until Apple decided to end Mac Clones. However, they made it worth my while not to do it, so I was cool with that.
These days I have a company called Open Labs in Austin, TX that makes computerized musical instruments. Some of our users include: Timbaland, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Korn, Faith Hill, Reba and others. It's pretty cool to come full circle back to music.
Well that's where I am at this point. If something significant happens, I guess I'll have to update this some more. What a pain in the ass.
