About Me

The First Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line is a recreated Revolutionary War living history group. The organization is composed of volunteers who authentically clothe and equip themselves to portray the soldiers and families of this historic military unit.The recreated First Virginia Regiment is one of the most recognized Revolutionary War units in the country and has itself developed a proud history. Organized in February, 1975 the First Virginia is incorporated in Virginia as a nonprofit, educational organization.www.1va.org

My Interests

being paid in hard currency, getting full rations, defeating the British, rousing bayonet charges, loud volleys

I'd like to meet:

The First Virginia Regiment is now actively seeking individuals who share our interest in the history of the people and events of the American Revolution. Anyone with an interest in the American Revolution and the time to devote to this avocation is welcome.

Music:

The First Virginia also boasts of a growing Fife & Drum corps that brings the camp to life with march tunes and duty calls that were a part of a soldiers everyday life.

Movies:

The First Virginia and its members have participated in a number of film and video productions. Since 1975, the recreated Regiment has been asked to star in, or lend its expertise to the making of educational documentary productions, as well as television mini-series and Hollywood blockbusters like "The Patriot."
