Announcement

Announcement (known as Scream Poet, Scream from January 06 to January 07) was a Chicago based pop-punk group that disbanded in November 2007. Over the course of two years we played about two dozen shows in various DIY show spaces (and I think one Christian youth center) in Chicago and Michigan. The line-up of the band stayed the same throughout, with Ben Scott on drums, Rogelio Zamudio on bass, and Chris Peditto on guitar. We had all been playing music together in varying forms since early on in high school. I released a four song acoustic demo in January 06 (which included a cover of Jawbreaker's 'Boxcar') and soon after Ben and Rogelio jumped on. We recorded our first full band demo, titled '5 Songs' in April 06, and played our first show the same month. In October 06 we released our 'Illegitimate Descendent of a Pope' EP which was received with mildly positive reviews from PunkNews, Maximum Rock'N'Roll and a handful of web-zines. Bands we played with include but are not limited to: O Pioneers!!!, Fake Problems, Bomb the Music Industry, Sanawon, La Quiete, Off With Their Heads, the Goddamn, Punkin Pie, Street Smart Cyclist, Shinobu, and Lautrec.
