I am here for Friends

About Me

Currently not stressed about anything. It feels strange.

My Interests

Things I enjoy most: music, books, art and coffee. I am part Pacific North Westerner and part La Belle Louisianne (Cajun). Some folks think that's a deadly combo. I've been in the NW for a long time but have lived in Louisiana and San Antonio, TX. Spent my youth in SLC, Utah - no, I'm not mormon and I don't ski. I try to get away to see family and friends in the southlands whenever possible. New Orleans is my favorite place on earth.

I'd like to meet:

A hunk of burning love.

Music:

Best band: Girl Trouble from Tacoma, WA. They make me happy and have always given me full value of my rock-n-roll dollar. I enjoy X, Gun Club, The Fall, The Cramps, most old punk, Spoon, Luna, Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets, Mudhoney, The Sadies, Alejandro Escovedo, Detroit garage, Seattle garage, garage-garage, Boxcar Satan from SATAN Tonio, TX, whatever project Jon Langford of the Mekons is doing, Nick Cave, Truly, Mark Lanegan, UFO, Thin Lizzy, T-Rex and other 70's glam rock. Spiritualized always take me someplace warm and valium-like, especially live. I also love old skool cun-tree - Bob KING of TEXAS SWING Wills, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and I could go on and on.

Movies:

I lovelovelove any of the old British Hammer Horror films. My holy trinity of horror film actors:Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. Nobody has cheekbones like that anymore. Christopher Lee will always be my favorite vampire. He is getting old but he is still hot in a pale supernatural way. Another great oldie is "The Day The Earth Stood Still". Gort, Klatuu, Barata, Nikto. I like the films of directors Hal Hartley, Jim Jarmusch, Pedro Almodovar, Tim Burton (not Planet of the Apes) and the long lost David Lynch. maybe I should view more comedy. Some of my other favorite fims: The Devil's Backbone,The Reflecting Skin, Nadja, Homicidal, Carnival of Souls, Rosemary's baby, Siesta, Imitation of Life, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, any Crispin Glover movie. oh mercy my brain aches.

Television:

I watch it from time to time. Usually BBC America or something highly educational. heh heh heh

Books:

Edgar Allan Poe, Flannery O'Connor, Carson McCullers, Nick Cave,Louis Slobodkin. Books are fun. I like to read books. Cormac McCarthy is a new favorite.

Heroes:

My dearly departed cat, the Girl. Meow.
