I am here for Friends

About Me

My name is Christin and I love awkward moments.
I'm a smartass with a pottymouth, but I'm the nicest smartass with a pottymouth you'll ever meet.
I really, really like people, especially genuine ones who have a unique flair.
I miss the South but I love big cities.
My family is far and away the most important element in my life.
Just about every other sentence from my mouth is a dirty joke I most likely cannot back up.
I'm an ethnomusicologist but I'm taking a break from the industry.
I like humans who are passionate and witty and kind, and I really like it if they open about their shortcomings but do it confidently.
I am genuinely and rationally petrified of dinosaurs.
I get about 3/4 of the way done with crosswords before I decide they are stupid and it's not my fault I write in letters with a pen.
I'm confident but I'll be the first person to tell you when I suck at life.
I really like saying words like 'tracheotomy' and 'superfluous' because I like how they sound.
Back/passenger-seat drivers and sound system touchers drive me interally ferocious.
I see absolutely no problem with wearing skinny and tight jeans at absolutely any occasion.
I wash my clothes about once every six weeks, if that, and still have about half my wardrobe to wear. That's really, really bad.
I think it's extraordinarily important to see the humor in every day and every moment, but to make sure you also recognize those who inspire you and are thankful for every minute you have with them. Then make fun of them for it later but in a much more subtle way.
I mumble more than necessary.
I completely loathe rudeness and when people don't put effort into a conversation.
I think it's really important to be honest, but being honest while employing discretion is better.
I find I am more taken with the British indie scene and television production than any other country's.
I have a great long-term memory, but probably the worst short-term memory and timeliness in the galaxy.
I'm way too contemplative, but I'm also a social whore if need be.
I don't look up to very many people.
I don't trust very many people.
I'm liberal not because I was raised that way, but because I was raised to think for myself.
I don't believe most compliments people give me.
I think we are what we think.
I secretly want to be in a rapper's entourage so I can shout the words that rhyme at the end of every line and get paid for it.
Sometimes I'm too self-righteous.
I am not romantic or very sentimental.
My kitten still sucks her own nipple.
I don't really believe in marriage because I believe in pre-nups and divorce. It doesn't mean what it used to.
I got called a "hippie in stilettos" a couple of years ago and I don't think I should even try to argue that description -- although I have become much more taken with flats and kitten heels lately.
I don't take people seriously who take themselves too seriously.
I hope I still have a kind soul when this whole ride is over.
I'm also apparently cocky for thinking you just read this whole thing.

My Interests

I love exploring and discovering what I think is truly beautiful in life, in every aspect imaginable. This probably explains a bit of my political perceptions
Accountability.

I'd like to meet:

I like people like my music: Honest, original, smart, brave, contagious, & raw.

Also, anyone who reaffirms my belief in letting the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
