About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

I am a 33 years old, married to an adorable wife and have two equally adorable children.I try to be an individualist and going with the current trend, fashion etc is definatly not my bag baby. You wants to look the same as everyone else, or dress the same as everyone else...or even talk the same as everyone else...not me for sure!I eek out an unsubstantial living as a journalist working from home, which is the reason why I have turned to myspace...lots of free time on my hands between commisions, a whole world of internet geeks out there like myself, and nobody to talk to whilst my wife is a work.I'd like to think I have a good sense of humour, but it does fail sometimes on the wrong sort of people. In my experience it helps to be able to laugh at pretty much everything, apart from the obvious like major distasters etc

My Interests

DVD'S, Music, Cinema, family, pubs, concerts, restaurants, books, writing the same old stuff.

I'd like to meet:

Like to chat with most people about a variety of different subjects, especially music but as I am not interested in flirting or whatever, gender looks, dimensions and age are immaterial (although I should point out that over 18's will be better for security reasons, plus my language is apt to get a little sour sometimes and I wouldn't want to offend young ears)

Music:

Progressive Rock...oh yes that is my ultimate favourite. Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Gryphon, Camel, Greenslade, Rush and Kansas and great new band that have a page on here called Circulus...check them out prog fans. I also like barouque and the odd classical peices as well as 1920's and 30's jazz, 40's big band, 60's pop and psychedelia (did I spell that right?) 70's glam/rock and 80's pop/rock....couldn't get on too well with the nineties however. My dream band will have to be as follows.Rick Wakeman - Keyboards Phil Collins - Drums Chris Squire - Bass Richie Blackmore - Guitars (of course) I am unsure of a singer as yet, but potentials are Jon Anderson, Ian Gillan, Peter Gabriel, David Coverdale, Candice Night or Sandy Denny (if only it was still possible) Although I like the idea of the four definates I have chosen being more of an instrumental quartet with a variety of the above acting as guest vocalist depending on the track. Interesting idea?

Movies:

Well now were talking. Anything since 1927 and the advent of talking films usually makes for a good watch as far as I am concerned, and I am also big lover of the epics like Lawrence of Arabia, Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments, Gone with the Wind, Khartoum and Waterloo. I also have a great passion for Hollywood Musicals and Romantic Comedies and noooo I am not gay before anyone asks. I also Like British Comedies like the Ealing films and the Carry On's.

Television:

Telly has got really boring these days, and most nights we flick through the 10billion+ channels we now have and fail to find a single thing that interests us, so we usually go to bed and read or watch one of the aforementioned DVD'S. I think its the comedy shows that keep us glued to the box more than anything. Have I got News For You, Alan Partridge, Saxondale, QI, The Two Ronnies, Goodnight Sweetheart, Just Good Friends, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Friends, Coupling and Blackadder are all firm faves. We also like Heroes which is surprising as it is usually not our kind of thing, but it is most exciting...yeah.

Books:

We are currently reading through the entire Harry Potter series again in preparation for the release of the 7th book..just to reaquaint ourselves with all the little details. Other than that I am big fan of the author 'Sapper' who wrote the Bulldog Drummond Stories in the 1920's and 30's. They are great thrillers and due the era of writing have a bit of a 'ripping yarns' feeling about them, but they are good even if sometimes they are a bit far-fetched.

Heroes:

My late father will have to be cited as my biggest and most endearing hero, as the impact he has had upon my life can never be put adequatly into words. I miss him dearly and always will. As for famous celebos that have made an impact well here goes my list. Fred Astaire for being 'THE MAN' Frank Sinatra for being 'THE VOICE' Douglas Bader for basically being the most determined and gutsy dude ever, Winston Churchill for his spirit, Rick Wakeman for being the best at what he chooses to do. Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins combined for making 1971- 1975, the ultimate chapter in Genesis's history, Jon Anderson for his angelic voice, Cliff Richard, for not just being a talented artist, but for overall being one of the nicest and kindest guys in the world and god knows that what we need, and the unknown few who came up with the concept of prog Rock and the effect it has had on my life. Special mention of course to Cary Grant and David Niven for basically being cool as f%$k

Tony Kaye, Billy Sherwood, Alan White, Jimmy Haun

At Worlds End

Went to see Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End today with my wife and daughter. It is amazing. Go and see now or at least add it to your 'ten films to see before I die' list.  ...
