Books:

Poets: Gary Snyder, Robert Creeley, Anne Sexton, Plath, John Berrymen, Leonard Cohen (published poet way before musician), Paul Blackburn, Sharon Olds, Louise Gluck, Gregory Corso, Lucile Clifton, Robert Duncan, Charles Olson, Philip Whalen, Larry Ferlinghetti, Maxine Kumin, Denise Levertov, WD Snodgrass, Frank O’Hara, Adrienne Rich, Muriel Rukeyser, WCW, Kenneth Patchen, Amiri Baraka Richard Brautigan, Jim Carroll, Dianne di Prima, Erica Jong, David Lehmen, Kenneth Koch, Michael McClure, Marge Piercy, John Wieners, Cid Corman, Robert Kelley, Kerouac, Anne Waldman.I'm big also on non-fiction books, but not novels or fiction. And for some trivia: Allen Ginsberg plays finger cymbals on the Clash’s Combat Rock. Anne Sexton even had a rock band the year prior to her suicide. And Lou Reed wrote the classic VU song Heroin years before trying it first hand. He wrote it as a poem for his Syracuse professor Delmore Schwartz’s course work. Schwartz is obscure now, but once had a quick pinnacle wining the awards that mattered before alcoholism took him down.

Heroes:

after failing to narrow it down: keith olbermann, joe strummer, robin yount, townes van zandt and charlie watts for being married to the same wife since the Stones started.
