First of all, I must thank my dear friend Mairead for "The House of Trampolines." It always makes me smile. take a bow! If you found yourself to this page, you probably have way too much free tme on your hands. might i suggest opening a book or slipping in a cd and listening to that instead? If you really MUST read on, then I guess you're looking for all kinds of interesting tidbits about me. You're bound to be disappointed, as most of my interests don't involve me leaving the apartment.
I love music, all kinds. Most people say they listen to "all kinds" of music, but what they really mean is they listen to wahtever MTV tells them to, and they have an old copy of a Spice Girls cd they bought because they originally liked it, but are now to embarrasssed to admit it and keep it around because they claim it is "ironic." I am not one of those people. I listen to practically everything: I enjoy Jazz, opera, classical, Rock, Alternative, Heavy metal, Rap, R&B, vocal standards, country, punk, basically anything. i'll give anything a shot.
movies are another passion of mine. My interests go from the silent era of the 20s up to modern times, with a lot of foreign films in the mix. I like all genres and have a great appreciation for certain directors. Woody Allen is a favorite of mine along with kevin Smith, Orson Welles, David Finch, Quentin Tarantino, Charlie Chapln, and my all-time favorite, Akira Kurosawa. A weird quirk of mine is watching a movie over and over and over again. Once I really get into a movie, i like to see it several times over a short period of time and really get immersed in it. For example, when I got the DVD of "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" I watched it five times in a week. And that is hardly a record.
I also have a huge interest in comic books. I read most of the stuff Marvel puts out, a certain DC titles, and some independant books that catch my eye. Today's average comic book fan is a middle aged adult and the comic book industry has matured to meet this. Most of the stories now are much more complex than they used to be and the characters are much more fully developed. Some of the best fiction being written today is of the comic book variety. Which is a sadly overlooked fact.
Lastly, I write. I don't say i love to write, because I don't. As the saying goes "I hate to write, but love to have written." That sums me up. I mostly write comic book scripts and am working on some movie screenplays, and I also write idiotic things to amuse myself and my friends. Some of which may be on here. i don't really remember.
