About Me

Whenever I take the time to write about myself, it gives me the vantage point to really "see" myself. It's like a self-diagnosis type of feeling. At the same time, writing about myself feels like a double edged sword. I can say one thing. Modern day sociology and psychology leads me to believe that whatever I say can literally be over analyzed and interpreted another way. Since this world we live in seems to be always skewed, usually that "other" way will carry a very negative connotation. I'll try to describe myself, but please read it for what it is... All this, after all, really is just plain 'ol me, in my own words.
I love to write. Sometimes, I feel that I should be a writer because I get a kick out of explaining things in writing. At one point in my life, I made instruction manuals for installing aftermarket car parts (...in a way, I still sorta do), and I tested my "directions" with people that had absolutely no clue that cars had so many parts in them. I figured that if they could figure it out, then so can the rest of the world. I am thorough, and thought out. I have been told to be very "calculating" in both good and bad ways.
I've been criticized that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I've also been criticized that my sarcastic nature gives people the wrong first impression about me. All that is fine because I think of it as I tell people what they need to hear so that they can make themselves a better person. I won't mention anything unless it seriously crosses me. That goes for restaurants with bad service all the way to driving on the road. I have no problem getting up out of my seat and getting the pitcher to refill my cup of water. The difference is that I'll do it with a smile. =) When you get to know me, you'll realize that I drive a lot. I think that because I'm on the road a lot, road rage isn't in my nature. It is, however, if whatever stupidity suddenly involves me like if the other driver cuts me off, and winds up clipping my front bumper. I have zero tolerance for people who cause traffic accidents. "At fault" drivers who are trying to skew the truth to make it seem like it wasn't their fault are the ones that make my skin crawl even more. I feel that those kind of people have serious issues with taking responsibility after their own actions.
It's noon-ish now, and I gotta get back to work...I'll write more later. (Jan 31, 2007)
I can see the world through your eyes...
...it's how I know you more than you give me credit for.
Don't look at me and ask what more I can do for you. Stop and realize what I have done for you already...
I've wasted a lot of time in my course of life, and I've only now begun to realize certain values in life that have taught me how to re-prioritize myself and my goals. (I guess it's why I act like I'm only 21... I should have been more like this when I was actually 21.)
I am a Jack-of-all Trades...go ahead and try me. I love being able to know, understand, and do a million things. ;-)
I'm a nerd.

The mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee...When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the "mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee."A professor stood in front of his philosophy class and had some items in front of him on the table. When the class began and everyone settled down, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas in the jar between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the was jar was full. They agreed it was.The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "Yes."The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed."Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---God, your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter-- your job, your house, and your car.The sand is everything else---the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you."Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Don't remember the bad...but concentrate on the good.

Why is it that when people evaluate how other people's relationships have come and gone, they only focus their attention on how it ended, and honestly fail to consider how the relationship even began....
