Born from the ashes of Burning Hate - a band playing a bare death/trash metal - the HouseMaster formed in Venice, Italy on November 2005. The Burning Hate line up included most of the HouseMaster's current member: Matteo Pierazzo on guitar, Pierluigi Cavazzano on vocals, Giorgio Schirato on drums and Riccardo Rizzi on bass guitar. The Burning Hate had a shortlived career, playing only a couple of venues in 2000. Two of its members (Matteo and Riccardo) went on to form the Dateless Aim - a band largely influenced by 80's trash metal - whereas Pierluigi and Giorgio formed Misgur - an experimental rock band. In 2004 Pierluigi join the Dateless Aim, wich had recruited Piero Maschietto on solo guitar and Furio Buranella on drums. One year later Pierluigi left the band to form, together with Matteo, the HouseMaster. Supported by Riccardo and Giorgio. the HouseMaster recorded "I Paroni De Casa", their first demo, whitin six months from their conception. After being invited by the band to add solo arrangements to the record, Piero Maschietto also joined the band.
The word "HouseMaster" is an approximate translation from the venetian "Paron De Casa", litteraly Landlord. However, HouseMaster was preferred because its initials - H and M - reference Heavy Metal, and also as a tribute to one of Venice's landmarks, St.Mark's square steeple, otherwise known as Venice's "paron de casa". When translated back to Italian, HouseMater sounds more like janitor then landlord.
The HouseMater plays a blend of metal sub-genres: a modern trash influenced by death metal and classic heavy metal.
Fascinated by the expressive potential of each idiom, HouseMaster have chosen to sing multiple languages, to capture German's martial tones, Spanish's distinctive pathos, English's broad flexibility and the freakness of Venetian (an Italian dialect). The use of different languages is also the band's celebration of contemporary metal as a most cosmopolitan music genre.
