About Me

Remaining 110% committed to the true spirit of Straight Edge Hardcore, Trenton New Jersey’s Mouthpiece continued to assault inexperienced and unsuspecting youths coast to coast with a relentless onslaught of speed, energy, and smack-in-the-face rage up until they broke up in ‘96. Live sets are like time-warps back to an era of squished-up-front-sing-alongs, non-stop stage dives, ceiling-high-pile-ups, and fear-for-your-life intensity; the way hardcore used to be and the way many feel it should be today. Some bands that have helped to shape their sound include: Chain of Strength, Youth of Today, Dag Nasty, The Faith and SSD. With all of these varied influences, however, there is something genuine and fresh about Mouthpiece’s sound that is unmistakably original.
