I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

All my buddies that didnt make it this far for one last party.

Music:

Where to begin? The first music I heard as a small child (yes, I was small once) was the country music that my grandma had. So I grew up listening to Hank Snow, Eddy Arnold, Ned Miller, Hank Thompson and the like. Later on, when we got a record player at home, the only records we had were those that my parents had bought when courting (awwww) so it was Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and loads of Big Band Jazz records in the main. There were a few that really caught my ear though. Western Movies for one, some Elvis, and Guy Mitchells Rockabilly. An influence for life ;)Not going to name everyone I like - the list is far too long, and I'll have changed my mind about it all by the end anyway, but needless to say, if its meaty, beaty, big and bouncy, I'm into it. Most things from @ 1950 to 1962 are in my catalog - some later stuff, as long its nothing to do with, or influenced by that mop headed bunch of tossers from Liverpool.

Movies:

The Apartment and most other Billy Wilder stuff. Forbidden Planet, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and any cheesy Sci-Fi. Mel Brooks films, especially Young Frankenstein, Monty Python.

Television:

60's dramas - The Invaders, The Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), The Champions, Man in a Suitcase, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Prisoner, Dangerman.

Books:

Mainly Biographies these days, with the occasional Clive Cussler for Bond-esque escapism. Maybe one day I'll revisit the Famous Five and Secret Seven books again, just to see if they are still topical!
