I created this myspace to spread awareness about child abuse, domesitc abuse and rape. All forms of abuse. Some people just do not seem to realize how much abuse affects people. It stays with you forever!
What angers me the most is how quickly abuse and rape victims/survivors are branded liars. I honestly do not understand why someone would lie about being abused or raped. Crimes like child abuse and rape need to be taken seriously. When a child speaks out about being abused they need to be listened to and helped!
Abuse is wrong and it needs to be stopped immediately! Too many people want to ignore abuse and pretend it is not happening or that it is not important. We cannot ignore abuse anymore. This isn't something we need to think about before we take action to stop it. We all know that it is wrong.
Ever since I was very little I spoke about helping other children who weren't being listened to, as I was not listened to. My father and many other relatives of his family abused me from the time I was only a baby until I was a teenager. Besides my mom and other family members from her side of the family, I was not believed when I spoke out about it.
Countless judges, lawyers, counselors and policemen dismissed my situation as a mothers way of getting back at her husband after a divorce. Many of them were sure my mom had told me to say these things and just called me a liar. My mother fought for me though even though she was insulted and bashed for it. Yet no matter what my mom did, I was still considered a liar and was forced to remain in visitations with my abusers for many years.
I was sixteen when I finally got the courage to face my father and tell him I would longer continue the visitations. After that day, my life changed so much, for the better. I could finally admit what had happened to me and began to heal! Not only that, I could also follow my dream of becoming a child advocate.
It is my goal in life is to help as many victims/survivors of abuse and rape as I can. I know the affects of abuse are overwhelming and exhausting. Post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and other disorders caused by abuse interest me as well.Myspace Graphics
