About Me

Hatecrime (Bud "The Budster" Hughes â€“ Vocals, Dean "Slag" (We always called him Deano) Heier â€“ Guitar, Jeff "Da'Capin" Peacock â€“ Bass, Paul "The-RÃ¶g" Rogne â€“ Drumz) was a short-lived project but we made allot of impact, and did a good amount for a new band. The project lasted all of 10 months, from our first meeting to our last show. Like a typical band, there were great moments and there were bad. We only recorded 4 songs in the studio but wrote much more material.We were talking with a major record label and had received an opening slot on the 2001-2002 Skid Row tour but in-fighting and chemical abuse destroyed the band before either would come to happen.Dean was killed in a car accident on May 4th 2007.

Dean love skydiving, scuba diving and playing his guitar. Survived by father, William Heier; mother, Beverly (Du-Wayne) Lauck; brother, Derek Heier; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral service 11 AM Thursday with visitation 1 hour prior to service all at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel Coon Rapids Blvd. Published in the Star Tribune on 5/8/2007.
