Joe Dirty

Time to drop some names......Out of highschool I did a Magazine with Dale of Bancroft Records called SCARYFIRE that later became the e-zine SMASHIN' TRANSISTORS, but by that time I had already started playing bass and singing in theDIRTYS. ...This explains my name. The Dirtys did a Mick Collins produced album for the Crypt Record label (Gories, Oblivians,Devil Dogs,Back from the Grave comps....ect.) and toured the USA and Europe, did a few singles including my favorite "It ain't easy/ fuck" on Italy Records, the Dirtys were the reason Dave Italy started his label(which later discovered a little band called the WHITE STRIPES). The band really ended when Larry Terbusch passed away-R.I.P., him and I recorded a side record "Dirty Larry" released on Flying Bomb Records. After that I recorded a few more bands here and there including a single for the Daylight Lovers for a Dutch label called High School Refuse. I moved to Detroit in 2000 and started theBUZZARDS with Maribel of theDETROIT COBRAS and the Patera twins (Lesley & Nancy), we had a real hot streak for a while, appearing on the Jack White produced "Sympathetic sounds of Detroit" and also making a video w/Nick LLoyd (dirtys drummer and eventually the second drummer in the Buzzards). About the same time the Fondas started doing some stuff (recording w/ Jeff Meier and also Al Sutton). I was in the first line-up and on the Sympathy for the Record Industry Album. I started touring/working with the DETROIT COBRAS a few years ago and still tour with them to this day. In between tours i've done a few projects; including the LUXURY RIDES (members of the Dirtys, Roy from Les SEXAREENOS and Wes from the CLONE DEFECTS), we've done singles on two Italian record labels (Solid Sex Lovie Doll & Goodbye Boozy). More recently I've been playing in THE MOONLIGHT for kicks. I've also put together a new combo called "The JOE DIRTY show" about a short while ago and recorded a single for the BEEHIVE RECORDING CO., the band is made up of Steve Nawara on bass, Tom Potter on guitar, Nick LLoyd on drums and your's truely on guitar + vocals.
