THE INWARD SPACE, the brainchild of keyboardist/producer Bernard Maiezza (A Neon Rome, Change of Heart, Cookie Duster), release their debut self titled album December 9, 2005 at the Rivoli
The result of over 3 years of recording sessions done mostly at Maiezza's home studio, the album draws on a pool of talented musicians featuring members of Broken Social Scene, Danko Jones, Stars, C'Mon, Blue Rodeo and more.
Rooted in psychedelia, the album encompasses a wide range of sounds from the multiracked violins of ex-Blue Rodeo member James Grey to the ripping guitar solos of Ian Blurton.
The self-titled disc also sees Maiezza reuniting with his old freind, The Magic Lotus (ex A Neon Rome and inspiration for the 1989 film Roadkill), who returns to the world of song after a decade long spiritual quest.
A CD EP feturing an extended (25 minute +) version of Song Of The Soul is now available in a limited edition of 200.
Over the fall of 2005 the band gelled into a live five piece lineup with frontman The Magic Lotus, guitarist Neil Exall (Mercurymen), bassist Rob Taylor (ex-Change of Heart) and drummer Graham McCann.
