The Aural Design Research Centre was opened in the Spring of 2006 and it's first year saw such great bands as C'Mon, Broken Social Scene, Raising The Fawn and many more record their recent projects in the studios new facilities in the east end of Toronto.
The studio was set up by engineer/producer Bernard Maiezza who has over 20 years of experience working with a variety of bands/artists as well as composing/producing music for the film/TV industry.
The studio features a great collection of vintage and new-vintage style recording equipment as well as a collection of amps and keyboards that was hand picked to give the studio a certain "vintage' flavour missing in a lot of moderately priced studios today.
From the heavy bombast of Ian Blurtons C'mon to the sonic excursions that make up Broken Social Scene's soundtrack to the new Bruce MacDonald movie "The Tracy Fragments", musicians have been finding the combination of "homey premises" and collection of "high end vintage gear" as fertile ground for the realization of their recent projects.
The studio remains selective in their clientele and offer some of the lowest daily rates in the city thus enabling the artists the time that their projects deserve to capture the "right" performances and sounds. For Booking information please e-mail:
