About Me

MyGen Profile Generator I moved to Kansas from Michigan in 1999 to be with the love of my life, and we were married August 19, 2000. Gender issues were apparent, however, the extent of those issues did not become known until the spring of 2002 when we both finally accepted my spouse's transsexualism and she began the transition from male to female. Many folks wondered why I stayed in the relationship and quite simply it is because she was the love of my life and my very best friend. We knew the journey would be tough and there were no guarantees that things wouldn't change but I did know I would never leave the relationship unless I could say to myself with all certainty that I no longer want to share my life with Roni as my spouse. Leaving without that knowledge would be a great injustice to both her and myself.

My parents struggled with my decision to stay married and in fact came out and told me a few months back they didn't support my decision after which they ceased to include Roni in correspondence and conversation. Their lack of support and willingness to disregard the most important relationship in my life has been very difficult for me. I once felt very close to my family and now I feel very alone.

"The real point is that you cannot harbor malice toward others and then cry foul when someone displays intolerance against you. Prejudice tolerated is intolerance encouraged. Rise up in righteousness when you witness the words and deeds of hate, but only if you are willing to rise up against them all, including your own. Otherwise suffer the slings and arrows of disrespect silently." - HARVEY FIERSTEIN
