I'm interested in loads: Psychology, comic books, tattoo design, zoology, cryptozoology, mythology, sociology, robotics, cybernetics, creative writing. Maybe that's not loads to you but things like that can keep me cemented in place for a long time. As a matter of fact, I'm working on writing my own comic book script...if only I could find an artist.
I'd really like to meet Alex Ross, one of my favorite all time artists. I'd also like to say hi to Henry Rollins, Chuck Palahniuk and Brian Michael Bendis.Ok, hell, I definitely want to meet Angelina Jolie. I'll probably think of different people on another day. It's a mood thing.Oh yeah! I forgot Jack Black, what the hell is wrong with me...geez.
My musical tastes range from Howling Wolf to Wumpscut and back again. The only stuff I don't get into would be Country or Tejano/Ranchero. Go figure. I'm a real sucker for any project with James Maynard Keenan. I really don't think I should try to list every artist/band I like so ask away and I'll say if I do like it or not.
I like to laugh but not in a slapstick, contrived potty/penis/butt sorta way. Don't get me wrong, a clever banana peel is great...even a wacked out "Bizarro, I love you!" will get me going, but I think you get the idea. Enemies of the humor state are: The Wayans Bros. (Not Keenan or Damon), Carrot Top, Leslie Neilsen and Sinbad (He's just annoying). I like my action too. Any well crafted action story and the occasional visceral pic will keep me from walking away. I like the weird...hard to categorize stuff too...I'm not sure Fight Club counts as an action movie or if The Truman Show is a comedy or a drama...but they are some of my faves. Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt also win a prize for landing roles in some great weird movies. I admit it...I actually liked Finding Neverland.
Ok, so I watch House and Bones and I don't regret it. The Sci Fi channel, History, Discovery, Comedy Central, and Adult Swim are my television mainstays. All hail the mighty DVR! All hail digital cable! Television is the new crack! YAY for ME!
I like fiction, although I have a soft spot for some non-fiction, but there are very few of those. Neil Gaiman, Brian Michael Bendis, Alan Moore and Chuck Palahniuk are some of my favorite contemporary writers. I also like Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlen.
I can't really say I have any real life heroes...people who've inspired me or people I look up to are members of a very short list: Jim Dougherty, Mr. Winner (my 7th grade teacher), Melanie Pursel, and Nicole "Redd". That's all I can think of right now.
