PimpWebPage
The Southpaw Jinx are a Plymouth-based, balls-out rock band with a Southern dirty, low-end sound. We are a three-piece made up of powerful vocalist and riff-meister Neil Sims, newcomer 5-string bass groover Pikey Pearce and hard-hitting Neil Harwood on drums. The band has been through a few line-up changes in the five years they have been performing but have now clicked into the powerful trio that plays together under The Southpaw Jinx banner.Despite the English-based members and the obvious English influences such as Black Sabbath, our sound is strongly based in many American rock and metal bands, with comparisons often made to such acts as Metallica, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity and Kyuss. We spent the last Summer-to-Summer giggng our asses off, allowing us to test out some newly written material, seeing how it fit into the set of older stuff, with the odd classic metal cover thrown in for good measure. At the start of 2006 we recorded our low-budget album 'Bring Out Your Dead', followed by some great local press coverage and a 4/5 live review in Kerrang!
