About Me
Sabit, which is the Japanese term for "the best part of the song" or "the hook" is a premium Japanese streetwear collection. Inspired by the philosophy of Tanoshinde, the Japanese term for enjoy, designer Shoichi Amemiya has created a line of apparel infused with a unique spirit of optimism and subtle flare. The Japanese-born Amemiya is a veteran of Marc Ecko, where he acted as director of the outerwear division. He launched Sabit last year as a premium fashion denim and sportswear line.During Sabit's first season, MR magazine listed Sabit as "Editor's Best Of Fall '06"."Fall 06 will be the first delivery for Sabit and leave it the forward thinking stores like Atrium or Gerry's to book them for their floors. It's Japanese super cool style in reworked vintage pieces with great details. A buffalo plaid flannel jacket with a powerful purple lining and crazy leather trimmed jeans are definite standout pieces for the contemporary faux-hunter look.""This is Japanese influenced streeet couture", explains Amemiya, who has chosen to the line to Atrium, Gerry's, Pieces, Memes and Vinnie's Style, all in New York City.Sabit Spring 2007 is currently in stores.
