Omos Famous: MTV Jams Freestyle King

Freddy Laguna AKA "Omos Famous" was born in New York city, Spanish Harlem. Early in his life he appeared on Nickelodeon shows. On these production sets, Freddy left a lasting impression on producers and directors and was showing tremendous potential. Unfortunately, Freddy was unable to continue his acting. At fourteen he moved to San Diego, California with his aunt, a Navy retiree. It was then that his rebellious New York attitude got him into trouble with the streets. Omos Famous started Rapping at the age of fifteen in San Diego, California. He was impressed and inspired by his uncle Coati Mundi, a fellow Actor and Musician. Omos Famous joined a rap group named Down Low and achieved local success by performing all through California as well as out of state. In October of 2000, Down Low was named hip hop group of the year at the San Diego Music Awards. Omos Famous decided to go solo and started recording songs such as "Oh My God," "Summer Fling," and "Hood to Hollywood." Today you can find Omos everywhere from the streets of San Diego to the Hollywood nightlife, both performing and getting a taste of stardom. Some of Omos' influences stem from Coati Mundi, Big Pun, Ll Cool J, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Run DMC, Biggie, Eminem, Kriss Kross, to Kool N The Gang and Babyface.
