A band? A mission? Or a silly plot? I'm not sure.
Transmissionplot started out as an acoustic duo with the goal to play as slowly as possible without falling over. There were lots of covers; Maria McKee, Garbage, U2, Sparklehorse (hence the name) and more.
Soon the cover songs were replaced by original songs. Influences came flying in from everywhere... lines in newspapers, quotes from movies, those strange dreams just before sunrise, well, anything.
The duo became a band, members left, new ones came and went but finally the band fell apart. But studio sessions somehow continued with songs written on sunny Greek islands, yet those songs didn't come out that sunny.
Transmissionplot founder Erik invited friends to the recording studio while preferring to work in a random precision way while recording. Guitarists who'd never seen an E-bow were forced to play E-bow, drummers could be forced to play keyboard solos without knowing which key the song was in.
Erik himself loves to try out any mojos in the studio and is so lazy he prefers to try playing whatever is there so he doesn't have to carry his own stuff. Those rare times when he's been playing live Transmissionplot can be him alone on guitar or piano, but sometimes there has been up to a dozen people on stage.
But the studio is the favourite playground.
A band? A mission? Or a silly plot? I'm still not sure.
The only thing that's for sure is that Karpathos is the favourite island.

My ten fave two way dialogue moments in modern day cinema (geek list)

Yes, I'm a big movie watcher too. It's what I do when I've overindulged in music, which I do all the time, hahahah. This geek list runs in order of production year, 'cause I can't actually rank them....

About Noah and the Untold Story of the Original Cattle

No, I'm not blasphemous. This is about the song and video for "Noah". Inspired by Canadian folkpop artist Wendy McNeill I badly wanted to write a song around a simple four chord sequence. Wendy is a m...
