Gerardo Brenes is in his early twenties continuing a musical journey spanning back through his childhood. Musical training began at an early age due to his father's wish that he continue the musical tradition in his family. It was not until Gerardo's teenage years, however, that he fully appreciated the knowledge his father had bestowed upon him. Through use of MIDI sequencing software, Gerardo unintentionally began realizing his compositional skills. Thus, after further modelling by his father and theoretical study in college, Gerardo has become a self-declared composer hoping to share his musical ideas with the world. Most of his works are vocal pieces set to twentieth century poems, as well as some alternative pop music. Gerardo's vocal works have been performed at Florida International University, and he is a member of the American Composers Forum as well as ASCAP. Gerardo was born in 1986 and currently lives and studies in Miami, Fl having lived there all his life.
