randy rhoads

was born on December 6, 1956 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica California and died on March 19, 1982. full name is Randall William Rhoads. Mrs. Rhoads has owned and operated the Musonia School of music in Burbank, CA since 1949. my father was a music teacher himself, but he left when i was 17 months old. i have an brother and a sister Kellie and Kathy. i received my first guitar at age six and a half, it was an old Gibson classical acoustic "Army-Navy" guitar that had belonged to my grandfather. In the beginning i studied folk and classical. when i started electric guitar my teacher was Scott Shelly. i attended 1st Lutheran School in Burbank and went on to attend John Muir Jr. High School. my High School program was condensed at Burbank High when i graduated from a special program so that i could pursue my music. i received all A's and B's in High School, but i wanted to continue with his musical education and to teach at my mothers school so i choose to graduate early and begin my career. my first rock band was with his brother Kellie Rhoads. We got the group together when i was about 14 and named it Violet Fox after our mothers middle name voilet. When i was about 16 i started teaching at Musonia. One of my best friends in the early days when was Kelly Garni. we started playing together around 1971 and eventually formed Quiet Riot together after combining their talents in many other bands including Milfred Pierce, the Katzenjammer Kids and Mammoth. i got the call for the Ozzy audition just before the last Quiet riot gig. i had not been much of a fan of Ozzy but i accepted the invitation and went for the audition. It took two months for the details to get worked out and then i was off to London as the lead guitarist of the newly formed Blizzard of Ozz. arrived in England in September of 1980 and began working on our first album. we were in the studio for six weeks writing and recording the first of two studio albums featuring myself and by Christmas it was complete. our next album, Diary of a Madman was recorded immediately after our Blizzard. i express interest in leaving Ozzy to pursue a degree in classical guitar at a University setting. but then it happend.{Associated PressMarch 20, 1982, Leesburg, Fla.
