Monkey Business

Monkey Business is an hard rock band from Caserta, Italy. The band born in 2001 from an idea of Yari Lanci (drums) and Dario Crocetta (guitar). Soon the line-up is completed by Valerio Sciascia (vocals), Lello Miele (guitar) and Attilio Barbato (bass), whom previous experience as session-men and live musicians is now focused on a new, unique project which gathers a common passion for hard rock music. The band starts working hard for what will become a really intensive live activity, thanks to a setlist of classic songs between the most representative in their genre. This will lead the band to the stages of their country, and to a sound reputation in the live circuit as one of the hottest new bands as well. In May 2004 the next step is their first work - then released in September - the self-produced demo "...Looking Back at Me", featuring the songs One of a Kind, the melodic yet rocking Waiting by the Crossroad and the classic ballad Kinda Love. The CD is well received by the press all over Europe and by the Italian metal webzines Metalitalia.com, Eutk.net, Hardsounds.it. In July 2005, Looking back at me is Best Demo on the Italian metal magazine Metal Shock. In the same month, the magazine hosts an interview to the band. From now on the status of the band grows up by itself: Monkey Business is hosted in various radio shows, and on the main national radio channel Radio Uno Rai the popular DEMO broadcasts two songs, One of a Kind and rocking Waiting by the Crossroad. In 2005 the band is also included in the compilation Sintonie Rumorose, a collection of best Italian new bands, opening the CD with One of a kind. Meanwhile, the band keeps working on new material, and in February 2006 it signs for the Italian label Powerzone Records. Monkey Business enters the recording studio not long after for its first full-length album, "the Noble Art of Wasting Time", produced by the band together with Maurizio Capitini and Andy Menario. "the Noble Art of Wasting Time" was released in Semptember,2006.
