Ok, so. I am a self promoting musician, which means that I am writing my own bio. I think it's hilarious when self-promoting musicians write their own bios and talk about themselves in the third person, how wonderful they are. I'm not gonna do that. Honestly, I'm a waitress in Santa Monica. Just moved here 3 months ago. My bass player, Jared May came shortly after (he's f@$ing amazing! you should check him out, he's one of my top friends of course). We've managed to put together quite the band. Terry Miller plays drums and Jim Buck plays keyboards (and boards and boards and boards - I've lost count of all his toys.) I'm truly blessed to play with such great musicians. I moved here from Jacksonville, Florida. My guitarist - Jeremy Kairalla (aka 'The Universe') and original drummer, Jon Farmer (produced and recorded my first album, 'In Through the Wires') are still in Florida. Jeremy is talking about moving out here in January and Jon may take a little longer. It is my dream to have both Terry and Jon playing the $ht out of some drums on stage and at the same time. Once again, can I just express to you how amazing the people that I play music with are? They are all top friends and you should seriously check them out. As for me (if you want to know about me - keep reading, if not - stop now) I started piano at 10, guitar at 15 and I've been singing... well, if you count singing along to Madonna LIKE A VIRGIN, then FOREVER. Moved to Hawaii at 18 (turned 19 a week later) to pursue academic studies. I majored in MARINEBIOLOGYZOOLOGYPOLITICALSTUDIESENVIRONMENTALSTUDIES, and all in the course of 5 years. Half way in I decided to pursue music. My father (bless him) talked me into finishing my studies, so I do have a degree in Environmental Studies, but I just play music... and waitress. However, I am so thankful for my studies. Studying the Environment opened my eyes to truth. The environment is not just about grassy fields, redwoods and coral reefs. The Environment is EVERYTHING. It is your surroundings. The people you meet. The clothes you wear. THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE YOUR CLOTHES. We are beings, coexisting. We are all connected. We are all one. These are the things that I am most interested in expressing through my muisc. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue music AND do a yoga teacher training which I finished a month ago (did I mention that I LOVE YOGA!?) Yoga profoundly influences my music, but not in a cheesy way. It is my hope that through music, I can give truth, hope and light to those who will listen (ok, so that was a little cheesy - but my music isn't - I PROMISE!). As for my music - we're calling it "Indie-Electro-Folk," but really, you should just come experience it for yourself.
