Synthetic Mary started jamming in a friends garage in Long Beach, California in 1999. After a few jam sessions they started to play backyard partys in the summer of 1999. After playing many backyards parties the band started booking gigs all over Southern California. Synthetic Mary built a huge following by sticking to their roots. Which was simple, the band always promised anyone who attends a Synthetic Mary gig is invited to a nearby hotel for the after party with kegs of beer and all the hard liquor you can drink. This is the bands way of saying thanks and watching their intoxicated family grow with each gig.After one show at "The Whiskey" in Hollywood that almost ended in a riot the band caught the attention of radio pesonality Johnathon Brandmier (Los Angeles, Chicago) and he liked the band so much he flew them to Oktoberfest in Munich Germany to play for thousands of drunk Euros. While in Europe Syntheic Mary also opened up a few shows for the Foo Fighters and played at "the Brick" for 2 nights with Beck in London. Since then the band has toured the entire U.S., Mexico, Germany, England, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Japan, Canada, Ireland, Denmark, Korea. Their songs have been played on radio stations all over the world and have also been featured in many movie soundtracks. Spin magazine was quoted as saying "Synthetic Mary has gotta be one of the most famous unknown unsigned bands" If Synthetic Mary is playing in your town check them out and don't forget your all invited to the after party!!!
