First Impressions Are Misleading ... as we all know ... so with that in mind ... here ya go ... My name is Rachel Staples .... My song is unique and strong ... with a heart of gold to go along ... I have blonde hair... it's never been dyed... people think they are blue... but I am green eyed... no, I do not have perfect skin ... I gotta small scar on my nose where a dogs bitten in... some say I have the best smile in the south ... but back in middle school I was know as Horse Mouth ... to some I am too loud ... I just look at them in their pitiful, forgettable crowd... and I sing proud... I open my lungs and my body, acoustically, and I am all heart.... Age four was the beginning of my musical career, and it has been an intimate, amazing, rewarding pleasure-challenge from the start.... I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs, with a dual concentration in political science & modern languages - from Florida State University - if any body cares.......... I moved to Los Angeles, California in April 2005 ...... and my life is my music, my own creations, my own productions, my own reality forming around my wildest imaginations ... I perform ... i sing ... i compose ... i endlessly write prose ... I record ... I promote ... I produce ... from life i seek the pulp and i slurp up the juice ... i teach ... pray tell, i preach ... I contort my being into shapes while I meditate on the beauty of self awareness and love ... and I realize I truly have been blessed, and my gratitude for these blessings go to that Amazing~Artist~Above .... I am a seriously trained opera singer but I have been strangely influenced by the street ..... I have tough skin and a heart that has yet to skip a beat.... I write, I write songs, poetry, and constantly deep down, past my inner ear, what I hear is, music ... a symphony, a cello, and a stand up bass ... this thing they call music, it is my head case.... I write what I like to call "experimentally millennium opera jazz"... I am different, I am unique, I am in my own class... Call me a composer/songwriter... un-harnessed vocalist... A life long performer... a gentle spirit... one who can make the heart, the head, and the home a lil warmer... I am lost in my number... and I am socially secure... I am overwhelmed with center self... Secure... Some insecure... There is art ... All around... Expressions lost yet royally crowned... In their paint ... I drown... They tell me lies... But to my surprise... We made... Rotten apples into homemade pies... Cut out the rot... Take some time and take some thought... For every good meal... For every good feeling that you feel...
