My life is and always has been music. When I was a child I rushed home throwing my school satchel to one side drawn to the piano like a magnet. Playing the piano all started with Fräulein Fritsch as we were then living in Germany, and continued with Svea when we moved to Sweden. It was she who encouraged me to write music.
I gradually got into music college, where I saw myself primarily as a pianist and songwriter.
After music college I started working with Annalena Brundin and at the same time began writing music for other artistes as well as composing music for theatre, films and television....On one occasion when presenting a newly written song for a singer and after I had played and sung this song, the singer asked why I did not sing myself..it got me thinking and started me off writing lyrics as I had done earlier in my teens. Lyrics and singing were what was needed as if it were the last drops of water needed for the seeds planted through my youth to suddenly germinate and begin to grow and burst into flowers of dramatic and vibrant colours, a tapestry of bold splashes and pastel shades.With this sense of creative impetus I formed my group in 2002 consisting of voice, piano, string quartet, bass and drums.
Ulric Johansson plays bass & Mats Persson plays drums. Both are musicians of considerable experience and play with or have played with artistes such as Louise Hoffsten, Eva Dahlgren, Meja, Nisse Landgren och Roxette.
Karin Sandén Berg plays cello and the other instruments have been played by talented musicians from Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm, depending where we have played.
My first album will be released in the beginning of April 2008.Maybe you..ve seen us at:
Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Skulefestivalen at Höga Kusten,
Umeå Jazz Festival, Malmöfestivalen, Nefertiti in Gbg, Mejeriet in Lund, Fasching in Sthlm.
Our first recordings were made at Gula Studion in Malmö with Jens Lindgård as engineer and producer.
It..s not so easy for me to put a specific label on my own music.
