'Jezebel’s aim is quite simple- to write timeless, decadent rock n roll anthems, reminiscent of "a time when Heavy music was about long hair, motorbikes, having a good time and escaping the shit that is daily life, rather than a miserable spotty geek on a mountain bike with more issues than a broadsheet newspaper," to paraphrase Jay's own words. More than that though, the band stands by it’s desire to stay true to their own musical values and beliefs of playing out n out rock n roll that refuses to dilute or mix their sound with fickle current trends. At the same time, they strive to find their own sound, one which melds elements of Glam, Sleaze, Hard Rock, punk, and old skool metal together, and keeps a large foot in the blues.

The seeds of Jezebel were born at a chance meeting between Jay and Dan at The Old Angel Pub, Nottingham in Jan 2007...
6 months later, Jezebel had relocated it's base to Sheffield and were a full band performing their debut gig at Sheffield's Under The Boardwalk on July 23rd 2008. At the end of the year, they replaced their bassist and drummer with 2 of the cities best young talents in Drudd and Mark before, in April 2007, Rhythm guitarest Paul left. The band briefly entertained the thought of hiring a 2nd guitarest before making the decision to say as a 4 piece.
Since we started, we've recorded 3 times, gone through line up changes, had press and radio play on national and US internet radio and done over 30 live shows with bands such as-
Tyla (Dogs 'd' Amour), Fables Last Stand, Rollin Thunder, Maeven, Breakout Degree, New Generations Superstars, Skeleton Crew and many more...
yep, we've still got a lot of polishing to do, but if you can find a *cough* new band (not a band 3 or 4 years old claiming to be 'NEW' or 'UPCOMING') that has done as much and worked as hard with NO label backing, NO promoters other than ourselves, NO management and NO Ass kissin... then you tell me who they are and we'll buy their beer n powder their noses for a night!
and this is what folk have been saying so far...
"...Potential there, whether they want to big or just big on the 'underground' scene... catchy tunes and a stage presence/attitude to match. definitely a band to watch out for this year."
Neil- Tomatoe Records
..
"Great potential... I really liked what I heard... The perfect sleazy voice. The songs rock!!!!
Scott- 'Spikethevein2' US Sleaze Radio
"Forget the recordings. This is a band you MUST see live to appreciate how good they are... A proper live show"
Rock Noize mag
"Jezebel not only have the tunes, they already have the showmanship and wade in attitude, something drastically missing from the mainstream. Lets hope brains engage and people take notice..."
Tom Duffy, Music writer and critic
"Loaded with grinding, unadulterated axemanship, together with a generous shot of rock ’n’ roll sleaze, Jezebel’s sound is both vividly nostalgic yet entirely of their own creation..."
Faye Coulman, writer for Sandman (and various other) magazines.
"Jezebel are f&*king great" Simple as...
James Carr (Stage Pass Promotions)
"Their self-composed offerings do not disappoint, a vibrant blend of pop, blues, sleaze, hard rock and AOR"
www.Metalliville.com
"Good Glam band (Glam us? methinks not), Stage presence, good songs, attitude"
Wordy- Corrupted, Blackburn (after our gig with Tyla on 10th nov 2007)
"Spitfire riffs and a greasy glam coating define the Jezebel sound... old school metal without sounding out of place. A potent riff fest of the UFO and Judas Priest era with just enough Dogs 'd' Amour to keep them sexy!"
Fuse Magazine, issue 12, Jan 2008
