About Me

I'm a nomad; I have lived in Houma, LA, Sugar Land, TX, Lafayette, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, San Antonio, TX, Katy, TX and Chicago, IL.I like Chicago because I can laugh when I pass the gas stations with signs that read $4.29/gal. Cheers for public transportation. Downside: public transportation=germ city; everyone gets whatever bug is floating around.I'm not sure about tortas up here; we didn't have those in San Antonio, so I stay away from them. But I'm all over the italian beef sandwiches. Cheeseburgers up here are called Cheddar Burgers. Also popular are small burgers called Sliders. Salons say Unisex. People say "you guys'" (possessive form) instead of your. I am slowly picking up a midwestern accent (gasp!). Though pizza is popular here, red pepper is not. And if you find an establishment with red pepper, it's usually not as spicy as it is in the South.

My Interests

Tubing down the Guadulpe in TX, poker, beach volleyball, beer, swing dancing, random road trips, hanging out on the TX lakes, singing, LSU football (Geaux Tigers!!!).

I'd like to meet:

Music:

A little bit of everything...Chemical Brothers, Disney soundtracks, Fiona Apple, Counting Crows, Beck, most anything hip hop, Dixie Chicks, Alanis Morrissette, Jason Mraz...anything I can sing to.

Movies:

Office Space. Swingers. The Sound of Music. Legally Blonde. Big Business. Love Actually. Wedding Crashers.

In general, I'm not too big of a movie buff; I end up losing my attention span half way through.

Television:

I don't watch TV anymore.

Books:

Honestly, my first required novel in High School, Hermann Melville's "Billy Budd", killed my love of reading. Thanks a lot Hermann.

Heroes:

Tom, I think this is a great section -- for those 8 years old and under.
