My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who make me laugh; people who make me think...people with open minds and open hearts who aren't afraid to reveal themselves (I mean that in the figurative sense, LOL!)...people who are honest with others, and considerate of other people's feelings. I enjoy people who have a brain in their head, some aesthetic sense, and just plain good manners. It would be great to meet people who share similar political and social beliefs (here's a hint: I did not vote for our current president, and I have volunteered at Planned Parenthood). I'd like to meet energetic, enthusiastic people who take initiative, who get out and do things, make plans, take trips, try new stuff...because that's what I like to do too. People who are never satisfied with the same ol' thing...people (like me) who think exploring new places/foods/ideas/activities are the reason why we are here. If you think an African safari sounds like a cool idea; if you will try any ethnic food there is; if you can appreciate any genre of music that is performed well; if you want to get as much out of this short life as you can---then we would probably hit it off...

My Blog

Whaddaya know...

25 random things, facts, habits, etc., about me... 1. I poisoned myself at the age of 3 by eating Lily of the Valley...and (obviously) lived to tell about it. 2. I like Christmas carols quite a bit, E...

For my dear friend: youve got to let yourself fall...

...before you can learn to fly. Take that leap, even knowing you'll fall flat on your face and end up bruised and broken. You'll do it, again and again, because that's what life is. A life in which y...

Interesting, no?

Okay, I am  not some starry-eyed full-on believer of astrology, and I certainly don't let it dictate my future, but every now and then they seem to hit close to home and be pretty darned relevant...

Epiphany (on expectations)

It seems like I am often struck with epiphanies when driving in my car. My mind must apparently be spinning freely along with the engine and the wheels, because every now and then I will be smacked on...

Ode to a Car, On Dying Young

Within a grassy lot it sits Though some of it is bashed to bits Its destiny; the scrap heap pile. But still, a life that was worthwhile.   Just 21,000 miles along, Its ending is a tragic w...

Addicted to Maybe

The Psychiatrist Is In; 5ยข please... How does one kick an addiction to Maybe? I don't deliberately try to idealize things in my mind, but I do it anyway. And then, of course, those idealizations haunt...

Be cool...

Okay, so I will admit that I have only been to Austin a couple of times since I have moved to Texas (which occurred only last year). And I will concede that it offers a lot of cultural opportunities, ...
