About Me

I've escaped Dallas. It's been almost two years since I made my break and I'm loving it. 106 degree heat for 5 months. Who needs it? I'm hiding out in Brooklyn, where apparently winter lasts 16 months. But now the trees are blooming, the dogs and babies are on the march. Get with it people! Spring has sprung! Put on your short shorts, bust out your babies and corgis, and let's get this show on the road. I need some baby kittens' ears to smell!

My Interests

Running. Lazing. Watching loads of movies. Reading. Avoiding. Scrabbling. Generally useless stuff. I like a fierce debate every now and then.

I'd like to meet:

Potatoes and poptarts. Someone or someones different, lively, interesting, and, above all, funny. Deadpan, slapstick, puns, sarcasm, goofy, witty, whatever your schtick of choice. I'm always looking for someone who can make me laugh.

In no particular order - Neko Case, Lucinda Williams, Kinks, Willie Wisely, Jonathan Richman, Johnny Cash, New Pornographers, Rilo Kiley, Elvis Costello, Reindeer Section, Violent Femmes, Postal Service, White Stripes, Edith Piaff, Wilco, Old 97's, Cat Power, Bonnie Prince Billy, Lambchop, The Be Good Tanyas, Billie Holiday, Death Cab for Cutie, Fiona Apple, Heartless Bastards, and so on

Movies:

Movies that have stood the test of time for me: What's Eating Gilbert Grape - Three Kings - Monty Python and the Holy Grail - The Philadelphia Story (Hepburn and Grant) - Harold and Maude - 12 Monkeys - Bringing Up Baby - Fiddler on the Roof
