About Me

The soundtrack for "The Other Conquest" is the unique, memorable result of three of the greatest talents in music to emerge from the Spanish-speaking world: Samuel Zyman, Jorge Reyes and legendary, world-renowned tenor Placido Domingo. It is a fusion of the classical and indigenous and it transports us to another time and place, to an important moment in world history when Spain set about to conquer the Americas. Jorge Reyes captures the ancient Aztec world with unique, authentic indigenous music and feverish rhythms, Samuel Zyman brings a lush orchestral score that captures the spiritual struggle in our main character, the Aztec scribe Topiltzin (Damian Delgado). Finally the score concludes with the powerful aria "Matera Aeterna," written by director Salvador Carrasco and performed by one of the greatest tenors of all time, Placido Domingo. "The Other Conquest" is a unique, diverse film score, an impactful piece of music on it's own. It is now available for purchase on iTunes and the movie is playing in select cities nationwide.
