SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2008!
IT'S GOING TO BE A HUGE YEAR!
7th YEAR ANNIVERSARY of M.E.A.N.Y. FEST - watch for a huge 2008!
M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2007 was an incredible success! As part of M.E.A.N.Y. FEST, finalists are chosen from performing bands by audience vote. The M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 08 winner will have 20 hours of recording time and lots of other great prizes, so get ready for a great 08!. All finalists will also perform with a special guest act by December 30th, 2008 (venue to be announced).
This year's event will be an exciting one. M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 08 will rock the best venues in NYC like JOE'S PUB ,CRASH MANSION, SNITCH, The KNITTING FACTORY, ARLENE'S GROCERY, 169 BAR, BOWERY POETRY CLUB, LIT, CLUB MIDWAY, FAT BABY, MO PITKINS, MAXWELLS, FONTANAS and more! Finalists will also appear on Rockin Clubs' -Time Warner cable which airs in almost half a million NY households. The winner will appear on Fearless Music TV, a national cable show! Stellastar, a M.E.A.N.Y. finalist has since been signed and released 2 albums on RCA. Halestorm, special guest has an album coming out on Atlantic Records. Locksley has been seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Conan O'brien. Everlea, signed to Glassnote Music in 07 and MY AMERICAN HEART is now signed to Warcon Records and touring nationally. We would also like to announce our new media partners the USA SONGWRITING COMPETITION and WE ARE LISTENING.
M.E.A.N.Y. FEST concluded last year's event on December 29th to a sold out show at the Knitting Factory main stage with SONNY MARVELLO being awarded the grand prize winner, MASLOW as runner up. The finalists rocked out with special guests KISS KISS AND BLESTENATION. Over 260 bands performed in twenty NYC venues and approximately 15,000 people attended over the week of rock.
