Bishop Greaves whose proud parents are Victor and Rose Greaves was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He faithfully attended the Redemption Church of Christ Bible Way, under the pastor ship of the late Bishop Arthur Lee Pearson. In his early years, although his parents raised him in church, he experienced the gang life and was a fighter. Through the grace of God, he was baptized in Jesus' Name at the age of 15 and received Christ in his life with the evidence of speaking in a heavenly language at 20 years of age. He has proven himself to be a faithful servant while holding the office as Youth President in his local assembly. At the age of 21, the Lord called him into the ministry to preach the gospel to a dying world especially to be a mouthpiece to the youth of his day. As a result of this calling, he founded the United Power & Praise Crusade, Inc. in 1992. Many souls were filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost and many were baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins.
In June, 1994, Minister Vincent L. Greaves was ordained to the office of Elder during the 37th Holy Convocation of the Bible Way Churches World-Wide, Apostle Huie L. Rogers, was the Presiding Prelate.
It was in July, 1995, that Elder Greaves became the proud Pastor of the Good Samaritan Prayer Room Church, Inc. He continued to work with the Bible Way Churches World-Wide as the New York State Youth President.
In January, 1999, upon the leading of the Lord and much prayer, Pastor Greaves, along with his congregation, came out of the Bible Way Churches World-Wide organization under the leadership of Bishop Huie L Rogers. This resulted in a name change from the former Good Samaritan Prayer Room Church to Prayer Tabernacle International, Inc. Ministries. In August, 1999 by the leading of the Holy Spirit, Elder Greaves was elevated to the office of Bishop at the Coney Island Cathedral by Bishop Waylyn Hobbs, presiding Bishop of Restoration Fellowship. Bishop Greaves served as Vice-Presiding Prelate of Restoration Fellowship for a one year period.
As the Lord continued to bless the ministry spiritually, He also blesses naturally. On October 4, 1998, Pastor Greaves found a good thing when he found his wife. On Sunday, February 14, 1999, Pastor Vincent L. Greaves was united in Holy matrimony on the presence of the Lord to Evangelist Patricia H. Skinner by the Honorable Bishop Julius Sloane of the Alpha and Omega Church. Now God has a team that work diligently together in the Ministry for this is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous is our eyes. For what God has joined together we will let no man put asunder. It is in this union that the Lord blessed Bishop & Lady Greaves with 2 beautiful children, Malisia Ann Greaves, and Vincent L. Greaves Jr. After 11yrs being away from his roots, Bishop Greaves Sr. and the Prayer Tabernacle Church returned back home, to the Bible Way Church organization under the leadership of Bishop Lawrence G. Campbell, Chief Apostle. It was at the 48th Holy Convocation upon the approval of the joint board of bishops; Bishop Greaves Sr. was appointed a District Bishop in the state of New York, In July 2006 at the Bible Way 49th Holy Convocation Bishop Greaves was made the Episcopal Diocesan of the United Metropolitan Kingdom Diocese Bible Way World Wide.
It is today that Bishop and Lady Greaves stand together in ministry on the Word of God. And God has given us a theme and motto that we live by:†PRAYER WORKS"
