DOWNLOAD THE ALBUM FOR FREE AT www.autonomtheband.com................ In the spring of 2006 Autonom began the process of doing the 10 song demo album Suburban Love wich is out now. Calling it a process is not an overstatement since the making of it has taken a whole year. It started with the band doing a local gig in Flen for about 800 people. The band does not play very often in the hometown so many people were up for it! The consert gained enough money to start rebuilding the rehearsal studio to a combined recording studio.A reason for that was that severeal guys in the band had bought portable recording gear and computer recording gear. That said, you might say that Autonom went into a new era containing less rehearsal and more of a studio band. Since the members are spread out in Stockholm, Eskilstuna, Örebro, Flen and Sparreholm the time to get around at the same time for rehearsals seemed less and less possible.Suburban Love started out in a voting process where the band choose 10 songs out of maby 20 pre-demos, and even more acustic songs. When the songs were choosen the band rehearsed the songs for a short while, and quite immediatley started to record the different musical parts. Some of the songs were so good in the pre-demo version that there were almost no overdubs, although the vocals were recorded again.But, the songs that were recorded in the studio were thoroughly worked through. The band again voted on if and in that case what overdubs or retakes that were going to be made. And, it was important that anyone in the band could do the recording despite what instrument that member usually played. Some stuff were recorded in the studio, and some at home, some programmed sequences where taken away and played live, but also the other way around.During the process Johan Östling decided to leave the band but obviously he has put down as much effort and instrumentation as any member.So, for the band it has been a long road doing this album. Building a studio, learning the studio gear and computer programs, mixing and mastering and so forth. Doing everything by themselfes. It has been fun, tiresome, engaging, a drag, and lots of time spent! So it’s easy to understand that the band is quite proud of the achievment of doing it without anyone elese involved.
