About Me

Where do I start? Well to introduce myself, Im known as d.j. $hazam from 87th, but my friends know me as Brent, or BeeZilla and I've been a fan of (good) music...mainly Hip hop, and Chicago House music, as well as the artform of turntablism. Now that you know who I am and what I do, allow me to take you back to when it all started. I started the spring 1986, my best friend Patrick Lanier got some turntables for his B-day, and he called me and was like "dog! you got to come thru." After a year or buying records and practice we did a block party, and we turned it out. 1991-'98 Euphonics recruited me to spin along side d.j. Fonz, and Get Down throwin some of the coldest hip hop parties in the Chi. ( College nights @ the culture club, and the infamous hyatt regency to name a few). Also in '98 my daughter was born and took time off (plus it just wasnt enough money to support my vinyl addiction, and buy pampers so DJ'in got pushed to the side lines) 2000 was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis ( I'll explain in the blog) and the majority of my time was in and out the hospital from 2000 to 2005. One year later I was going to sell everything (1200's, speakers , amp, and records) but fate would have it I run into a good friend Lon 'd.j. 007' and a month later Matt 'd.j. Mattmatikz' caught up with me and with some words of encouragement motivated me to get back in the game but to be more business minded, and promote yourself (which is where the myspace comes in LOL), and to keep business minded people around you.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
