Summers, you drive like a spaz!

About Me

I appreciate good grammar. A lot. Also I think that whoever invented the Au Bon Pain bread bowl should get the Nobel prize. London is my favorite place in the world. And I believe very strongly in letting other people get off the train before getting on myself. I mean, really. My Interests

drinking in nice bars, books, walking in NYC, travel, and more books. Oh, and brunch. Brunch rocks.

I'd like to meet:

Sean Hughes. Barbara Pym (dead), Laurie Colwin (ditto), residents of The Elephant Sanctuary (not human).Failing that, I'd like to meet a cute boy who doesn't use the word "random" or ALL CAPS IN EMAILS. It's really difficult to read. And if you have Buddy Holly glasses, we're all set. And I would love to hear from former classmates ... that means you, Genya!

Music:

The Wedding Present/Cinerama, The Jam, 1990s Britpop (excluding Oasis, ugh). And music for cellos and stuff.

Movies:

A Hard Day's Night, The Big Chill, Legal Eagles (yes, Legal Eagles. Don't laugh. Oh all right then, laugh.)

Television:

It's just me and channels 2-13. Sadly.

Books:

Happy all the Time, by Laurie Colwin; Learning to Swim, by Clare Chambers; Small World, by David Lodge; The Traveling Horn Player, by Barbara Trapido

Heroes:

Linus Van Pelt.

My Misspent Youth

On Wed. night I went to see my favorite band. And it occurred to me that the time when I could be a groupie has now passed. I am now too old to do anything I might regret with a lead guitarist, or eve...
