Wrong Turn is a myspace-based gallery dedicated to urban poetry and inner-city art.
We believe in urban intervention as a distinct art form, a collaboration arising from the shared experience of living in the city.
We're looking for the images to be featured on this site!
Text art, graffiti, interventions, accidents, things that are just good as they are…
Your art, found art, non-art… Originality is the main requirement.
So get out there and find us something to show!
Please send your images to [email protected] in jpegs (sized 1MB max).
Thanks!

FEATURE PROJECT – INBETWEEN SPACES (Manchester, UK)
Inbetween spaces project uses a billboard as a portal of communication, bringing together the artists working in various media to invade and alter the advertisement space.
On the 27th of April 2007 a group of artists got hold of several billboard sites around Manchester and transformed them into temporary exhibition spaces, twisting the expectations on the billboard image and injecting some irrationality and playfulness into the strongly purposeful nature of advertisement.
Despite their flashy styles and apparent cheerfulness, billboard images essentially follow a very specific commercial strategy. The nature of billboard image is rooted in its purpose to advertise and sell, creating a visual language, which despite the attempts to introduce provoking and challenging adverts mostly remains predictable and rather stereotypical.
Inbetween spaces is an attempt to claim back the space that is used as a channel of commercial media communication, tamper with the purpose and the image, provoke and confuse.
The journey is an important part of the project and the artists promote the understanding of an exhibition as a tour. Walking helps to create a narrative as the viewer follows the Inbetween spaces billboards from one location to the other.
