Influences: My influence is Life, Nature, People, this Gift from God... Everything sings to me..., affects me, moves me..., in a very musical way...
@ first, I found myself idolizing the RnB group New Edition, singing "Can you stand the rain" talent show after talent show, 'til I lost my voice...
Then Of course came Youssou Ndour from my home country SENEGAL,
Phil Collins ( The album "But Serously" is like one of my all time favorite), Bob Marley ( Everything from The Gong), Stevie Wonder (what more can One say about him, that hasn't been said yet... He is the Best!), Donny Hathaway( One of the greatest that ever did it. Simply a vocal genius). Then came BoyziiMen ( I watched'em on tv @, I beleive the 96 American music awards, and I knew I wanted 2 sing, that xperience made me cry like a whimp), The Beatles (One of the gratest of all time), Todd Rundgreen ( The guy is a genius)...
Anyway after Ronny, Bobby, Ralph, Ricky, Jhonny, and Mike came Brian McKnight, R. Kelly, Jodeci, Whitney ( the queen of RnB in my book), Aretha Franklin, Blackstreet, Babyface, Joe, Dru Hill, Usher, Tyrese, Linkin Park, Rob Thomas, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Price, Mariah... and gosh, so many more...
Finally, I happened to pay attention to the music in particular, rather than just the lyrics. As a result of that, I became a huge, huge fan of every artist that produce their own material ( Reason Why I only listen to original albums, I gotta know who wrote what, who produced what, who arranged what, and so on). On the Hip Hop side the top of the list is Pac, then my boy Nas (nobody writes like that kid), 50 ( The definition of struggle, I respect him 4 that). I've been listenin' 2 a lottta french Rap lately, and my boy Soprano's flow and lyrics are realy worth paying attention to, and there are many more Mcs worth listening 2, like Disiz, Sefyu, Booba... Production wise Im very influenced by Stevie Wonder R. kelly, Brian McKnight, Babyface, Tim&Bob, Underdogs, Rodney Jerkins,B. Cox, Jimmy Jam& Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley,Shep Crawford,Phil Collins, Dre, My homeboy Akon,Timbaland, Pharell, Jon B... and the list goes on and on...
Sounds Like:
The Pictures are symbols of Smooth(Usher), Struggle(50), Beauty, and Awe of the Human Nature(Big City, Melting Pot), and its creativity(RocknRoll= Music in General), and the world around us(Waterfalls etc...) We can change the world, in a good way, provided we want to... We are truly blessed...
