Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
We are Xeper (pronounced Kef-fer) The word comes from the Egyptian deity Khepri, who is said to roll the sun (and moon) across the sky. Perhaps, we (human kind) were born from a ball of shit, like so many infinitesimal beings before us.
We've been a band for about 5 years now? We have a full length professionally recorded album Discourses on anything so absolute..., available through Read Mage Productions, a Demo or two, and an LP and another full length on the way.
Love is the law, love under will.
"Xeper makes the lukewarm urbanity of Baltimore just a little more like the abyssmal frozen soul-crushing North of Lapland. Refreshingly painful." - Severinn (Mind-Body-Light-Sound, WGMU)
"...the slow progression to this was a long and perilous journey - or so it seems, judging from the melancholy dissonance spewed forth from the bowels of these five men." - Read Mage Productions
"Its muggy as hell outside right now, but in the world of darkest metal its always the middle of a bleak-ass Norwegian winter. Xeper is from Baltimore but conjures the frozen blizzard winds of black metal without all the corpse paint and Nazi silliness..." - Baltimore City Paper
"...none of those come close to really explaining what Xeper is. In shorthand, one could describe Xeper as a sort of blackened sludge metal. Agonizing vocals twist slowly over music that resembles the soundtrack to a frozen swamp: unbearably frigid and unrelentingly dismal."
- Noktorn (Metal Divinity gives an 84%)
"....Xeper is the Alizee of Girls. Xeper is the Black Sabbath of Metal...." - Soulseek Doom Metal Room
"Fecal Corpse (3:21:34 AM): i really swear if you guys get an actual label deal, i'm giving up music altogether." - Ed (Booze and Blasphemy, Fecal Corpse)
"For fans of anything heavy enough to make you seriously consider suicide, this album is a must." - Carton De Leche (Doominion)
